Windrose
A Windrose is a type of map that shows information about the wind at a particular location over a specified time period. The frequency of the winds are plotted by wind direction. The different colors show the wind ranges. In this particular map, one can see the color bands that show the different wind ranges.

Propaganda Map
"The World According to Ronald Reagan" is a Propaganda Map. This map tends to be humorous in nature as it interprets Ronald Reagan's supposed view of the world during the Cold War era. The map depicts two fierce adversaries, the United States and the U.S.S.R., as well as the rest of the world in regards to what role different countries played during this time, at least according to the interpretation. The map is obviously not drawn to scale, with certain countries seeming to dwarf other in relation to their actual size.
